It is official, we have reached the half-way point of summer, have you made it a great one so far?  We’re lucky to live in a great place where there are so many ways to enjoy the outdoors, and this is the perfect time of year to break the routine and do something different.  In the fall and winter ahead, there will be plenty of time for watching sports, catching up on movies, and relaxing indoors.  Are you making the most of your time in the sun? If you, like many of us feel as if the summer just started, here are some great ways to make the most of the remaining half of the season.

Visit the Farmers Markets.  Not just in your town, visit the Farmers Markets of neighboring towns and take advantage of all the locally grown produce, ripe fruits, and outdoor fun.

Go camping.  There is no shortage of camping grounds, hiking trails, or picnic sites in the North of Boston area, so get together with family or friends and enjoy the pure, unfiltered, Massachusetts air for a few days.  Away from television, PDA’s, ipods, and obligations, take a break from it all and sleep under the stars.

Take a trip to the deCordova Sculpture Park & Outdoor Museum.  These unique grounds are filled with inspiring art and also feature fun events, educational programs, live music and activities for all ages.  This is also an ideal place to bring a picnic basket and enjoy a nice evening. 

Take the family apple picking!  Later into the summer season and welcoming the fall, this is a fun way to spend quality time with loved ones and get back to basics. Make memories and experience the nostalgia of simpler times.
