One of the things I enjoy about being a North of Boston Real Estate agent is being able to get involved in the community in which I serve.  Winchester is a great town that I have enjoyed living and working in for many years!  Getting to know neighbors through different events or happenings is one of the things that attracts so many to this North of Boston area.  

 

Winchester is also committed to a healthy environment and lifestyle which can be seen through its environmentally conscious initiatives throughout the year as well as through the favored summer Winchester Farmers market.  Being an avid supporter of getting involved locally, I wanted to take this time to highlight our farmers market and its impact in the community!

 

The Winchester Farmers Market kicked off last Saturday, June 11 and will continue each Saturday through October 29 from 9:30am to 1:30pm at the Town Common.  Organized and sponsored by Sustainable Winchester, the farmers market helps to build back into creating a sustainable environment in our town. 

 

Buying from local growers is oftentimes less expensive than buying fruits and vegetables in a grocery store and helps sustain these farms right in our own backyard.  The Winchester Farmers markets also allows us to meet our Massachusetts farmers and learn more about the fresh ingredients we get to experience.  Oftentimes, those selling their goods will give you tips on preparing their food and may even offer great recipes for you to try!   

 

Not only will you find fresh produce, but local artisans and musicians that add to the lively atmosphere of the market.  The Winchester Farmers Market provides a great opportunity to gather with family and friends, or meet new friends, while giving back to the Winchester community!
