Looking for something to do with the family this Saturday in Winchester MA?  Look no further than the playground!  You may think this sounds a bit juvenile and that climbing the jungle gym, while it may be fun for the kids, isn’t your idea of a great weekend excursion.  But this weekend, the place to be in Winchester is the well-loved Ginn Playground.

The Winchester community has lovingly come around this family favorite in order to rebuild it a safe, create and state-of-the-art playground that brings the community even closer together.  The Ginn Playground Restoration Project has officially been in place since 2008 to help restore the local playground that originated in 1988.  The goal is that the project is completed by the Fall of 2011 and Winchester residents have joined forces to see this project through to the end!  Based on donations alone, the non-profit organization has held fundraisers over the past few years to see that the $316,000 needed to complete the project is raised, and this weekend is provides everyone an opportunity to join in the process!

The 2nd Annual Autumn Festival Fundraiser for Ginn Playground will take place this Saturday, October 2 from 10am to 1pm!  This is not only a great way to support the Winchester community, but also to enjoy a beautiful fall day in this North of Boston town.  Gather family and friends and come enjoy fall carnival games such as pumpkin bowling, an obstacle course and more!  Music, storytelling by Kidstock, pumpkin painting and classic fall food (think apple cider and cider donuts) will make this a great way to kick off the season!  For more information on this event, visit the beGinnagain website.
